The quarterly prepayment amount of the insurance security fund shall be rounded to be "RMB1,000", and the fractional amount shall be paid off in a lump when the final settlement and payment is made. Quarterly prepayment amount shall be determined according to the following methods: 

i. An insurance company that has operated throughout the previous year shall withdraw and deposit 25% of its insurance security fund of previous year as its quarterly prepayment amount of this year. 

ii. An insurance company that operates less than a year shall withdraw and deposit 25% of its insurance security fund of previous year or RMB20,000, whichever is higher, as its quarterly prepayment amount of this year. 

iii. An insurance company that starts its business in the current year shall withdraw and deposit RMB20,000 as its quarterly prepayment amount, and must pay the quarterly prepayment of security fund for the full quarter despite that it does not operate throughout the quarter. 

iv. An insurance company may apply for separate calculation of its quarterly prepayment amount if there is great difference between the prepayment amount determined according to the aforesaid methods and the actual fund payable.
