From 20 to 21 September, CISFC Vice President Zhang Qiang and Assistant General Manager Zhou Fuping led a delegation to China Insurance Investment Co., Ltd. (CIIC) and Shanghai Insurance Exchange Co., Ltd. (SHIE) for exchange and survey, with the aim of boosting CISFC’s long-term growth and organization research, as well as drawing on the experiences of its associate institutions under the direct supervision of CBIRC. The delegation comprised relevant personnel from the Research and International Cooperation Department and the Risk Resolution and Legal Affairs Department.

The survey team discussed at length with CIIC Chairman Xu Anliang, SHIE Deputy General Manager Zhu Zhongqun, and other persons-in charge regarding the establishment and history of CIIC and SHIE as well as the operating mechanisms, present dilemma, and development plan of the two organizations.

Vice President Zhang Qiang started the meetings with an overview of CISFC and its history and explanation of the purpose of the trip; the department heads from the surveyed institutions responded by describing their programs. Lively discussions at the meetings helped foster mutual understanding between CISFC and its hosts.

The Research and International Cooperation Department will enhance its research based on findings from the survey to explore the drivers for reforming and developing CISFC’s frameworks and mechanisms, so that the insurance security fund system may function more effectively as the “last defense against risks of insurance industry”.
