Responding to CBIRC’s call for “implementing the plans of the CPC Central Committee, adapting to changes in the financial regulatory landscape, and preventing and mitigating financial risks”, on December 6, 2018, CISFC held the 2018 Strategic Seminar to set the longer-term goals, directions, and tasks of the company. The meeting was attended by CISFC executives as well as mid-level managers.

The meeting kicked off with the report on the findings of previous research studies, and the report of the thoughts for 2019 key tasks as well as suggestions for the company’s medium- and long-term development by each department head, followed by a discussion regarding the revision of the sub-plans under the Company’s 13th Five-Year Plan. The meeting concluded with the speeches of CISFC executives on the long-term priorities of the company’s development.

The significance of the Strategic Seminar was fully acknowledged by CISFC Chairwoman Yu Hua, who noted that CISFC needs to “Identify external changes, Determine key tasks, and Balance the Four Relations,” as well as to continuously strengthen its principal business, improve the insurance security fund system as well as the corporate frameworks and mechanisms, and push forward its self-strengthening programs, with a view to aligning the insurance security fund system with the Three Critical Battles of China and helping the country achieve financial security.
